He watches the cabbage so nobody else has to.

Closing Shift

Every evening, Kimchi WOJAK takes the late shift at a neighborhood fermentation shop. He straightens one crooked crock, checks the fridge twice, and gives every customer the same sideways glance. Nobody knows whether he is judging the cabbage or remembering the bus he missed. At closing, he locks up, pockets one mint, and walks home slowly.

Shop Customs

  1. Check the lid

One loose edge ruins a perfectly quiet shift.

  2. Respect the brine

It has been here longer than your opinion.

  3. Save the last jar

Someone tired will need it after midnight.

  4. Leave without rushing

    The bus is already gone.

Kimchi WOJAK clocks out without comment.
